The lab, in under three minutes

The questions we investigate, the method behind every study, and the cities we cover.

Our name

What does Binjori mean?

Binjori (بنجۆری) is a Kurdish word that represents curiosity, deep inquiry, and the pursuit of understanding. It reflects the drive to look beyond the obvious, ask the right questions, and uncover what others might miss.

At Binjori, this meaning defines everything we do. Through market research, mystery shopping, and customer insights, we help businesses discover the truth behind customer experiences and make informed decisions based on real evidence rather than assumptions.

Who we are

A research lab built for this region

Most firms here either distribute or advise. Binjori does the primary work: fieldwork, analysis and strategy under one roof, so decisions about this region rest on evidence from this region.

Three research pillars

One connected practice

Mystery shopping, CX research and competitive intelligence, designed to work as one method rather than three separate offers.

Seventeen services

Depth across the whole journey

From a single scored visit to a full market entry study, every service runs on the same weighted, evidence based standard.

One system, end to end

Nothing lost between stages

Each study is designed, fielded, verified and reported in one connected workflow, from the first brief to the final recommendation.

What we do

Three pillars of research

Mystery shopping is one method in a wider practice, not the whole of it. Each pillar answers a different question. Together they show you what the experience is, why it feels that way, and where you stand.

Explore services in detail Seventeen services across three pillars, each explained with worked examples, studies, maps and infographics.
What we investigate

Every service starts with a question

These are illustrative, not completed work. They show the shape of what we are built to answer.

Why is red meat more expensive than fish and chicken?

Price and supply study

Where should a new restaurant open in Erbil?

Opportunity study

How does an international brand enter this market?

Market entry intelligence

How are your customers treated when no one is watching?

Mystery shopping

Why does a competitor win the same customer you lost?

Competitive intelligence

Bring us the question. We find the answer.

The opportunity

Why now

The conditions for a dedicated research lab in this region are finally in place. Binjori was built to meet them.

A growing consumer economy

Retail, banking, telecom and food service are expanding fast across Erbil, Baghdad, Sulaymaniyah and Basra, and they are competing on experience.

Data that isn't written down

Reliable, local, primary research is scarce. Decisions are too often made on guesswork imported from other markets.

Purpose built for this region

A research practice designed from day one for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, local field craft, three working languages, one weighted standard, and evidence behind every finding.

Ready to build

Method, standards and brand are in place. The work now is becoming the region's first call for research.

Learning Lab

Play the Induction

Walk through the lab in nine interactive stations, what we do, how a project runs, and how we turn data into decisions. It is the first of a growing library of games for learning research.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

The questions clients and partners ask us most, answered plainly.

+Why should we trust a young research lab?
Because nothing we report asks for your trust on faith. Every finding is built on a written, weighted standard agreed with you in advance, every claim carries evidence such as photos, receipts and timings, and every score is checked twice, once by the platform and once by a person. You can audit any number back to its source.
+Do you use AI in your research?
Yes, openly and carefully. AI drafts, structures and double checks. It never decides. A named researcher reviews every AI output, critical results are cross checked across more than one system, and field evidence always outranks a model. Read more on the AI Assistant page.
+How do you make sure a finding is trustworthy?
Three habits. First, one weighted standard applied to every visit, so scores are comparable. Second, evidence attached to every claim before it can be submitted. Third, independent verification, a QA analyst reviews each report and unclear visits go back to the field rather than into your results.
+Is our information confidential?
Yes. Client identities never enter an AI tool, confidential files stay inside our own environment, and reports are anonymized wherever a name is not essential. Evaluators sign confidentiality terms and only ever see what their own visit requires.
+Where do you operate?
Field teams run in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Duhok, with coverage extending to Baghdad and Basra. A study can run in all five cities at once and still read as one comparable dataset.
+How does a study start, and how long does it take?
It starts with a conversation about your question, not a price list. We then design the standard with you, field the visits, verify the scores and present the findings. A focused single city study typically moves from brief to report in six to twelve weeks.
